Dental Clinic History in the Making… Before we built and opened the new dental clinic, for a number of years we provided emergency dental care in the church Nursery using a single portable chair on a bi-weekly basis. Since we could only accommodate 8-10 patients each day, we found we were turning away 80 patients every month. Now, by having two active chairs and with the time saved by not having to set up and break down the equipment, we have significantly increased capacity. On average, we turn away 12 people each month. Starting in September, the dental clinic will be open one Saturday morning each month. This will be a six-month pilot effort to see if we can close the gap between those who need care and the ability to provide it.
