It takes a lot of people, energy and love to support the Health Ministries of Christ Church. We have been asked to list here our wish list of the help we need.
Cash donations are always needed. It is difficult to simply keep the lights on and the doors open. The Church has set up a restricted donation account so that any and all donations received for Health Ministry go for those purposes. The Church covers all administrative expenses, so that 100% of any donations for Health Ministries are used solely for that purpose.
Some items we most frequently need include decaf coffee for brewing, powdered creamer, 8-ounce disposable hot cups, over-the-counter reading glasses in any strength, deodorant, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, gently used sheets, towels and blankets, new adult men’s white socks, warm adult gloves and gift certificates to WalMart, Giant and/or Payless Shoes. Please call the Church Office before beginning any collection so that we can let you know what is most urgent at that time. We need help with property maintenance. Call the Church Office to be included on one of the teams that provide occasional or on-going assistance.
For any questions or help, please call the Pastor at the Church Office, 236-8382. Thank you.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, many of our usually donated supplies have been diverted to the Gulf Coast for those in need there. That is not expected to change any time soon. In the meanwhile, we are experiencing some shortages of supplies. Our wish list includes:
soft bristled toothbrushes deodorant toothpaste bar soap antibiotic creams small size hand sanitizers sugar-free lozenges individual tubes of lip balm. Opticon Allergy Eye Drops Pepcid-AC Complete Similsan Pink Eye Drops warm gloves, adult men sizes generic cough suppressant and/or cough expectorant syrups New or gently used blankets, bath towels and sheets are also wanted.
FYI: The Baby Furniture Bank is low on gently used infant car seats, cribs and high chairs. And our total supply of underwear (brand new only, please!) -for men, women and children- is also scant.
If you wish to donate any of these items, simply bring them to church. If you would prefer to make a donation towards those items, please note “Health Ministries” on your check. Thank you.
