Integrating eBay® into your Site Using the Editor Kit
This page uses the eBay Editors Kit to generate a search link for items either sold by you, or items in which you think your users might be interested. This technique lists the items directly on your web page, with links to the corresponding eBay item pages. For this example, I've used a generic search for "Shelby" at eBay Motors. Note that the listing is built when this page is loaded, so that it is updated every time the page is displayed, rather than being a static page that must be rebuilt by your web developer periodically. Also, this list is built from the actual eBay servers, so if you're interested in an item, feel free to click on one of the links!
For a more advanced method of using a link to eBay, check out eBay To Go®
The first two techniques simply provide your web site visitors with links to pages either residing on or generated by eBay. Their advantage is that they cost nothing additional to implement. To use the eBay application interface, however, an annual fee plus a certification charge for the application itself must be paid to eBay, but in return you, as the owner of the application, have much more control over your use of eBay, and, of course, your users stay on your site, rather than get shuttled off to the eBay web site.
The next page will give you an idea of what can be done with a "real" eBay application.
