System Information Overview

You can, through these web pages, access information available about the system and the server that is running this web site. This information will help you to monitor the ability of the hosting service to effectively serve your website content to your users. While much of the information displayed is technical in nature, it provides either you or your web developer with the ability to evaluate the performance of your web hosting provider.

NOTE:  PCV Software can provide this capability only if your web site is hosted on a Linux or Unix server!

The programming behind these web pages reads system information stored on a regular basis by the supported operating systems. It does not itself monitor the system, and therefore imposes no additional load on the system by inserting monitoring hooks or programming loops.

On each page, a short explanation of each measurement is given, along with why that measurement might be important to you, the web site owner.

You can display general system information, such as host name and network address, memory and disk utilization, a list of processes that are running on the system, and information on the hardware making up the system.
