Getting Shipping Information from UPS

If you are taking orders for your products through your web site, then you're probably also shipping those products to your customers in some way. UPS offers a web service that will allow a web site to access its rate calculator and return the UPS shipping rate for various classes of delivery service, based upon the origin and destination zip codes and package weight and size. UPS also offers other services, such as package tracking and signature verification, that can make your e-commerce site a full-service provider. These functions will also allow many of these procedures to be automated, and avoid customer calls requesting information about shipping options and package location.

PCV Software is a member of the UPS Online® Developers Program, and as such can work with you to provide integration of your web site with the UPS rate calculation service and other services. To see a sample of UPS integration we've set up a UPS address verification page that, once a valid address is entered, will take the user to a shipping service selection page. Since the U. S. Postal Service also offers a rate calculator service, both the UPS and the USPS rates will be offered.
